Description of Services:
Manages publicly owned rent-geared-to-income and market rent housing units * affordable housing program includes nonprofit housing rental units

Communities with public housing units: Chatsworth, Grey Highlands (Flesherton and Markdale), Hanover, Meaford, Owen Sound, Southgate (Dundalk and Holstein), The Blue Mountains (Thornbury), West Grey (Durham)

Communities with private nonprofit housing units: Durham, Hanover, Meaford, Neustadt, Owen Sound

Sustainable Housing Benefit - Assistance for eligible Grey County residents to establish or maintain an affordable residence * funds utility arrears or costs, rental arrears, last month's rent or bed bug spraying * application form available on website

Rent Supplement - Provides eligible households with a monthly rent geared-to-income subsidy

Ontario Renovates - Funding to assist low to moderate income home owners to repair their home or increase the accessibility of their home through modifications and adaptations

Home Ownership Program - Home ownership loans to assist in the purchase of a new home


Short-Term Shelter Program - The Short-Term Shelter Program (STSP) helps those who are experiencing homelessness in Grey County. Individuals or families who enroll in the program will connect with a coordinator to assess needs.  STSP is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week by calling 211.

Supportive Housing - A new supportive housing centre has been opened at 396 14th Street West in Owen Sound.  This centre brings a much needed service to our community, providing stability and services in a safe environment so individuals and families can the skills, and access the supports they need to live independently.
