Description of Services:
Manages publicly owned rent-geared-to-income and market rent housing units

Communities with community housing units: Chesley, Kincardine, Lucknow, Mildmay, Paisley, Port Elgin, Ripley, Southampton, Tara, Teeswater, Tobermory, Walkerton, Wiarton

Communities with private nonprofit housing: Formosa and Kincardine * wait list managed by Bruce County Housing

Housing Stability Fund - Funding for people with low incomes and Ontario Works and Ontario Disability clients to find and maintain affordable funding * funds available for rent and utility arrears, first/last month rent, and moving expenses * application form available online

Rent Supplement - County pays private sector landlords the difference between geared-to-income rent and the market rent for a unit or a maximum flat rate subsidy

Affordable Housing Units - Units are rented at below-market rates to eligible tenants

Home Repair Program
- Funding for eligible homeowners to complete home repairs/renovations, energy-efficiency upgrades and accessibility upgrades for people with disabilities * funding provided in the form of grants or a forgivable loan

Home Ownership Program - Down payment assistance for those wishing to purchase a home in Bruce County and who meet income and home purchase price eligibility

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) - grant program for low-income customers who need assistance with arrears owed to Westario Power
