Friendly Visiting
Regular volunteer visits to older adults and people with disabilities, who live alone * volunteers are one-to-one with clients * visits generally occur in the client's home, but the volunteer can also take the client on a shopping or banking trip or to a social or cultural event
Meals on Wheels
Hot meals delivered, three days per week on Mon, Wed and Fri at lunch time
Security Checks and Reassurance Service
Regular visits and phone calls to check on the health and safety of older adults, adults with disabilities, and adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias who live alone * screened volunteers listen, talk, and help isolated people stay in contact with the outside world * general security check includes a short telephone call at a scheduled
day and time
West Elgin Transportation Network
Non-emergency transportation to local medical appointments and regular activities such as shopping or visiting friends and family * volunteer drivers use their own vehicles * all rides are dependent on volunteer availability
