Ontario Friendly Calls Program * call 1-833-979-9779 (free service, 9am-5pm weekdays) * matches people over the age of 18 with trained Red Cross personnel who connect with them regularly to check in, provide emotional support, encourage healthy coping strategies, and suggest well-being resources and community connections to other existing services

Provides emergency and disaster services in partnership with first responders, emergency managers, public officials, and in collaboration with other voluntary sector organizations. These services may include emergency lodging, reception and information, emergency food, emergency clothing, personal services and family reunification * those affected by a personal disaster, such as a house fire, call 1-800-850-5090
First Aid and CPR
First Aid and Safety Services training for community and workplace: all levels of first aid and CPR training * babysitting and injury prevention workshops * Leadership and Advanced First Aid courses * first aid courses are Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved * private customized courses for organized groups and workplace groups * first aid health and safety legislation
Ontario Friendly Calls Program
Friendly Calls Program is available across Ontario and registration is through email only * telephone calls are made on a regular basis by trained Red Cross volunteers who provide supportive listening, social interaction, emotional support, encourage healthy coping strategies, and suggest well-being resources and community connections to other existing services to the call recipients * home and community care clients over the age 65 are prioritized, but this service is extended to any adult who may benefit from a friendly call to help reduce anxiety, depression, or loneliness * calls can range from a two-minute safety check-in to a longer social chat
Violence, Bullying and Abuse Prevention
Promote safe and supportive relationships and healthy communities through educational programs and partnerships * service assists parents, teachers and youth and adults in the understanding of abuse, harassment and interpersonal violence issues * helps create a safer world for everyone
